How Central Coolant Filtration Systems Remove Dirt?

by | Apr 8, 2019 | Central Coolant Filtration Systems

Cleaner central coolant filtration systems mean longer-lasting, more effective and safer coolant as well as a better final product. GCH Tool Group offers a complete line of grinding coolant filtration systems, from paper bed units to magnetic separators, all designed to collect swarf and keep your coolant free of grinding medium particles.

GCH Tool offers a variety of styles and models of central coolant filtration systems, all suited to meet the needs of your application and your budget. For high tolerance grinding, GCH Tool also offers chiller units to maintain your coolant at a constant temperature. From the most basic to the most sophisticated, GCH Tool is pleased to be one of the leaders in coolant filtration systems for grinding.

Contaminated liquid flows through a trough for even distribution and then through a filter. As contaminants build on the filter media, trapped sludge causes the liquid level to rise, eventually triggering the unit’s micro switch. The switch activates the gear reduction motor and pulls used fabric into a waste collection tank. The filtered coolant passes into the coolant tank where it is re-circulated into the machine tool.

Gravity Paper Coolant Filtration Systems For Grinding (GCH-CFS-300 Series)

Gravity paper coolant filtration system available in six models, GCH-CFS-300 series gravity paper coolant filtration systems provide high-performance filtration.  Designed for use in tight spaces, a unique perforated and inclined filter media bed supports the filter media and allows the media to thoroughly drain, reducing coolant drag out. In addition, this series of gravity paper coolant filtration systems features a fabric rewinding system, which harnesses the dirty filter fabric for easy disposal and maintenance.

Contaminated liquid flows through a trough for even distribution and then through a filter.  As solids accumulate on the filter media, trapped sludge restricts flow through the media, eventually triggering the micro switch. The switch triggers the gear reduction motor and pulls used fabric forward.  Because the fabric media sits on an incline, coolant drains back into the tank, resulting in dryer sludge. A horizontal scraper blade removes the dried sludge from the filter, which then falls into a waste tank. Used fabric is rolled onto a spent roller for easier maintenance. The filtered coolant passes into the coolant tank where it is re-circulated into the machine tool.

Magnetic Coolant Filtration Systems For Grinding (GCH-MGC-500 Series)

Magnetic central coolant filtration systems GCH Tool’s magnetic coolant filtration systems reliably remove ferrous contaminants from machine coolants without the need for costly filter consumables. Fitted with a sludge-scraping blade and engineered to produce a dry swarf “cake,” units handle flow ranges from 8 – 105.6 gpm.

Available in nine models, GCH-MGC-500 series coolant filtration systems separate magnetic particles from water-based coolants and whole oils and can be used with oils up to a maximum viscosity of 20° cSt at 100°F (40°C).
